Tucker update - 2 1/2 years
It’s hard to believe it’s really Fall, and I guess that’s because it still feels like summer outside. At any rate, I wanted to send along another update before the holidays are among us and time gets away from me!
Tucker is still feisty as ever. With every passing day, we discover that his temperment is much more like mine than Jason’s (too bad - Jason is MUCH more laid back!). Coupled with that, he is also in the throes of the “terrible twos”. When I drove him to school one morning last week, he was screaming about wearing socks and shoes (he “no like” pants or shoes). He hurled his shoes into the front seat as I was driving. When we got to school, I struggled with him to get the shoes on - he was kicking and biting me! But as I left, he yelled “I love you Mommy! I miss you!”, and I thought - how can this be the same child I wanted to strangle 5 seconds ago??????
As with most toddlers, the things he says are hysterical - and sometimes a little embarassing. We were out with some friends this summer at a casual restaurant on the lake. He was playing on the deck outside as we were waiting for a table, and I noticed that he had a little something in his nose. So, I discreetly wiped it away. He turned around and screamed, “YOU TOOK MY BOOGER!!” and everyone on the crowded deck turned around to see. EEEK! (It’s ok…he can embarass me now, but I will be able to embarass him when he’s a teenager…).
Tucker is now officially in pre-school classes at school. The curiculum is pretty basic. The teacher is teaching the kids colors, numbers, letters, etc. They also have music and Bible time. He likes to “show off” his knowledge when I pick him up in the afternoons. I also get to hear about all the kids that went to time-out that day (unless HE was one of them). Apparently, a little girl named Barbara bites Gavin on the arm a lot. Hehe… In my last update, I mentioned a little girl at his school named Trinity. It appears that things are “over” between them, and Tucker’s new girlfriend is Kaya - a very cute girl in his class. He talks about her constantly! I have met her parents, and they are both very nice folks…and equally amused by Tucker and Kaya’s friendship.
We have posted more pictures on our Shutterfly website (thelunas.shutterfly.com ), and now we have a collection of videos posted at http://www.vimeo.com/321834. There is one of Tucker singing “Happy Birthday” to himself, even though we were celebrating Jason’s! Ha! The password for both sites is baseball.
Keep us updated on you!
Love,
Deanna
